Covid-19 rescue awareness campaign started in Kangra district

Dharamshala: Deputy Commissioner Kangra Rakesh Prajapati said that an awareness campaign for the public is being conducted in Kangra district till  31 October to prevent the spread of Covid-19. On Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati launched an awareness campaign and said that In this period people will be made aware about the correct use of the masks, hand hygiene and ensuring compliance of two yards distancing and to motivate them to get  the test done at the nearest flu centre if symptoms appear. He added that the public will be educated about home quarantine and isolation rules and to teach them to take extra care of the elder citizens and  the people suffering from other diseases .

Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati said, “ Home isolation kits have also been prepared for  those people who are put on home isolation if tests positive, which  include oximeter, essential medicines and necessary guidelines.  A control room has already been set up at the district headquarters regarding Covid-19 having  toll-free number 1077.”

Prajapati added that the testing facility has also been expanded in Kangra district, now the district has  20 sample collection centres with a testing  facility of  around 1200 tests a day.

Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati said, “A plan has also been prepared to conduct Covid tests of all  employees and officers of all government offices, along with tests of employees posted in hotels of the district . Another  plan is being prepared to conduct Covid tests of teachers and students in schools to prevent the spread of covid infection at any stage.”

He urged people to get themselves tested for  Covid on their own  at the nearest flu center , in case of any minor symptoms of cold, cough, fever etc.

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Gurdarshan was also present at the occasion.
