Kurukshetra, July 8, 2026: A group of participants—attending a six-day training program for Block Development and Panchayat Officers (BDPOs) organized by the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD), Nilokheri, under the Ministry of Rural Development's capacity-building initiative—conducted a study tour of Beed Mathana village.
During the visit, the participants inspected the community center currently under construction, the 'Shiv Dham' developed under the Shiv Dham Scheme, the village's impressive entrance gate, and the local gymnasium. The village Sarpanch and departmental officials briefed the participants on the ongoing development works, the effective implementation of various schemes, and the functioning of the Gram Panchayat.
HIRD Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan stated that study tours hold special significance in capacity-building programs. They provide officials with the opportunity to observe and understand the successful implementation of development schemes at the grassroots level, enabling them to perform better and implement innovative practices in their own areas of work. He emphasized that the success of rural development hinges on the coordinated efforts of public representatives, Panchayats, and the administration.
Beed Mathana Sarpanch Dr. Devidayal said that the Gram Panchayat's objective is to provide quality basic amenities in the village and to execute every development project with transparency and public participation. He also apprised the participants of the village's development journey and the various schemes being implemented.
Others present on the occasion included Jitendra Baliyan, Sunil Kumar, Neelam Chhikara (Consultant, State Panchayat Resource Center), Sandeep Kumar, and Kamaldeep Sangwan from HIRD.
