Chandigarh, February 5, 2014: Addressing the State Level Inter-District Lecture Presentation Competition of Punjab Civil Medical Services Dental on Research and Clinical Topics of Dentistry at GMCH -32, the Punjab Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh Shivraj V. Patil, said that over the years, the Dental Health Care system has witnessed spectacular advancements with innovative and advanced techniques to treat the patients, and the need of the hour is to convert this into clinical practices so that the procedure becomes cost effective and reach to the poor patients.
Launching Biometric Attendance System for participants attending Continuing Dental Education Programs, Workshops and Conference, Patil said that the Punjab Dental Council leads in online registration for Dentists in India, which was the only Council in the country to have online registration portal for the dentists and the Punjab Dental Council in its Endeavour to adopt latest technologies in computerisation has become the first state in India to launch, online registration.
Patil said that if we want to provide better health services to the people we need doctors and medicines. But there was something more important than that it was educating the people, the patients could be educated to care of their health. The students can be educated to take care of their oral health. They can be educated to brush their teeth properly and what should be done. He said Punjab Dental Council can focus on imparting education in this manner to the people living in rural areas also.
