The new entrant Avdeep Sidhu who plays the role of Nikhil, a NRI psychotherapist from USA who comes to India for his love interest in Manu (Shalini Sahuta). Here is a short interview with him.

Tell us about your character in Trideviyaan?
My Character is that of Nikhil Chaddha. He is in India to woo Manu (Shalini Sahuta). A Punjabi boy from USA who loves India and the only thing that drives him crazy about India is Hindi. Being abroad all these years he was fed-up with English hence he fancied talking in Shudh Hindi. That’s the best part of the character.

How difficult was it for you to speak in Fluent Hindi which we usually don’t use in our daily life. Tell us about your other challenges.
Yes! It was very difficult for me at the start as we usually speak in English. On the first day of the shoot I was not able to speak fluently because the Hindi that we speak is very different. It was difficult to talk in a flow but now I think I have improved. But it is too much fun to shoot such scenes. Also comedy is a challenge for me. But the team and crew have made me really comfortable now.

So tell us about your chemistry with Manu?
Manu, like any other typical modern girl, doesn’t want to get married very young. She throws all the possible tantrums on Nikhil. She does not want to be attached but deep inside she is attracted towards him. There are funny romantic moments between us.

Tell us about your Off-screen moments?
We have lot of fun with Director Nitin sir. He is a treat to work as a person. His inputs on our work is mind blowing. We have lots of fun on set with entire cast.

The person you bonded well on your first day.
From the first day itself, Sweety ji, who plays the role of my mother was very compassionate towards me. My character Nikhil had to speak only in Hindi. I never spoke such fluent Hindi in my entire life. This made me nervous and then Sweety ji came to my rescue. She motivated me and advised me to be calm. Later, Nitin sir helped me with my scenes. So these two people were the first ones on the sets with whom I bonded really strong.

Working with Star cast like Aishwarya, Rituraj and now Ranjeet ji, how does it feel?
I am a fan of Aishwarya since her Saas bina Sasural days and was very excited to shoot with her. Rituraj Sir has been the senior most actor in the show and working with him gives me immense pleasure. But most of all I am really looking forward to shoot with Ranjeet sir. I feel lucky to be working with such great actors. It’s a lot of learning.

Tune into Sony SAB to catch this explicit character’s entry in Trideviyaan, from Monday – Friday, 9.30pm.
