Congress’s ‘Dimagi Naxals’ and ‘Naraz Phufas’ Rattled by BRICS’s Historic Success: Tarun Chugh

Chandigarh, September 15, 2026: Rajya Sabha MP and BJP National Office In-Charge Tarun Chugh launched a sharp attack on the Congress and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi over their remarks on the dinner menu at the BRICS Summit, saying that the Congress’s ‘Dimagi Naxals’ have been rattled by India’s growing diplomatic stature and the global acceptance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He said that while the BRICS Summit has showcased India as a decisive global power and the global engine of the region, the Congress can see nothing beyond the food on the table.
Chugh said that the strong and unequivocal message against terrorism at the BRICS Summit, the condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack, the consensus on zero tolerance towards cross-border terrorism, and global support for India’s policy of peace, dialogue and diplomacy are historic diplomatic achievements for India under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. However, the Congress has nothing meaningful to say about this success and is therefore choosing to politicise the dinner menu. He said that the Congress has reached a stage where the entire world is witnessing India’s diplomatic success, while the Congress is behaving like a ‘naraz phufa’ at a wedding, complaining only about the food menu.
Chugh said that attempts by Congress leaders to link Indian food and vegetarian traditions with caste, region or ideology reflect their distorted political mindset. Respecting India’s diversity does not mean insulting Indian culture and traditions. He said the Congress must accept that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India is no longer the India whose foreign policy during the Congress era revolved around global powers. Today, the world listens to India, and India is playing a decisive role in shaping the global agenda.
Reacting to Asaduddin Owaisi’s remarks on the Uniform Civil Code, Tarun Chugh said that Owaisi sees neither equality nor justice in the UCC; he only sees his vote bank under threat. He said Owaisi’s entire politics is built around creating fear among Muslims, portraying every reform as anti-Muslim, and keeping the politics of appeasement alive. He said the UCC is not against any religion or community, but is about ensuring equal rights and equal laws for all citizens.
Chugh said that before invoking the Constitution, Owaisi should understand its fundamental principle of equality. Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are not seeking to take away anyone’s faith or religious identity, but to ensure that every citizen is treated equally before the law. He said that Owaisi should have no problem with equal civil rights, but he certainly appears worried about the weakening of his vote-bank politics.
Chugh said that whenever a reform is introduced in the country, leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Owaisi attempt to portray it as a conspiracy against a particular community and create fear in society. He said the people of India now understand this politics of appeasement very well. In one country, citizens having different rights and obligations solely on the basis of religion cannot be consistent with the principle of equality.
