Congress workers, farmer union leaders protest during visit of Harsimrat Kaur Badal

Ferozepur, November 10, 2021: Today during the visit of former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal to this border town, the members of farmer union Bharti Kissan Ekta Dakonda besides a section of Congress workers hold a protest which later took an ugly turn in which both parties accused each other for open firing and physical assault.
It is pertinent to mention here that Harsimrat had come here to attend some party meetings and garner some support for SAD. First she reached National Martyrs Memorial at Hussainiwala to pay obeisance to the martyrs. When she reached the city area where the meetings were being held, she had to face the protest by the Congress workers as well as farmers.
While accusing the Congress of spearheading today’s attack on SAD Leaders including Vardev Singh Mann and Joginder Singh Jindu, Harsimrat alleged that the congress workers had masqueraded as farmers and fired at senior SAD leaders, further demanding that the accused should be booked immediately. Harsimrat said the SAD has photographic evidence of Congress MCs engaged in a protest against the SAD under the garb of the Farmers Union, adding that such acts will not intimidate Akali workers .  
“This is not the first time that the Congress legislator has indulged in such activities”. She said in case the police administration did not take action in the case, the SAD would do so once its government was formed in the State next year”, she added.
Meanwhile, the Sanyukt Kissan Morcha (SKM) in its press note cdemanded registration of an FIR against the SAD leaders for allegedly running over five farmers.
