Congress Suffers Major Setback in Mukerian as Several Senior Leaders Join AAP
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) family continues to expand as several senior Congress leaders from the Mukerian joined the party in the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday.
Chandigarh, July 1, 2026: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) family continues to expand as several senior Congress leaders from the Mukerian joined the party in the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday.
Among those who joined AAP were Sarpanch Anil Thakur, Beant Singh Randhawa, Poonam Rattu, Sarpanch Tajinder Pal Singh, Rajesh Rattu, Sarpanch Lakhvir Singh, Sher Singh Shera, and former Akali Dal Assembly candidate Sarbjot Singh Sabi. They expressed their faith in the policies and vision of the Aam Aadmi Party and announced their decision to join the party along with their supporters.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann formally welcomed all the leaders into the party and said that AAP’s people-centric governance, honest politics, and commitment to Punjab’s development are attracting leaders and workers from across the political spectrum.
He stated that the continuous expansion of the AAP family reflects the growing trust of the people in the party’s policies and the work being done by the Punjab government. He added that leaders who genuinely want to serve the people are voluntarily associating themselves with AAP.
