Jalandhar, September 7, 2026: During a protest at the Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall in Jalandhar, former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa began his address by quoting the line from the Akal Ustat, _“Recognize all humanity as one,”_ and said that the people of Punjab do not believe in casteism.
“We all sit together as one Sangat and one Pangat. Mallikarjun Kharge, the national president in Delhi, and Charanjit Singh Channi in Punjab are all our brothers. The Congress strongly condemns such divisive statements that seek to divide the country, and the Congress as a whole does not believe in casteism.”
Randhawa said that an FIR should be registered against those who carried out the purification of the stage in Haldwani, as well as against those who supported them. He demanded that the FIR registered against Rahul Gandhi be cancelled. He said that registering an FIR against those who raised their voice against the purification was completely wrong.
