Congress Pays Tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his 125th Birth Anniversary

The country’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, was remembered today on his 125th birth anniversary by offering floral tributes. During a programme organized at Sarabha Nagar, party workers, under the leadership of former District Congress Committee (Urban) President and senior Congress leader Pawan Dewan, paid homage by offering flowers before Pandit Nehru’s portrait.

Ludhiana, November 14, 2025: The country’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, was remembered today on his 125th birth anniversary by offering floral tributes. During a programme organized at Sarabha Nagar, party workers, under the leadership of former District Congress Committee (Urban) President and senior Congress leader Pawan Dewan, paid homage by offering flowers before Pandit Nehru’s portrait.

Addressing the gathering, Pawan Dewan said that Pandit Nehru’s significant contribution to nation-building, his commitment to democratic values, and laying the foundation of modern India will always be remembered. Speaking particularly about Punjab, he highlighted how Pandit Nehru’s visionary approach is reflected in the establishment of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in Ludhiana and the construction of the Bhakra Nangal Dam.

He added that Pandit Nehru’s role in stabilizing the nation after Independence continues to inspire even today. On this occasion, party workers appealed to the younger generation to carry forward Nehru’s ideals and progressive thinking.
