Concept to execution-workshop on string art for fashionistas at GGNIMT

Fashion Design Department of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi conducted One Day String Art Workshop at its campus. This workshop was organized to enhance the creative skills and self confidence among the students. Students from Department of Fashion Design participated in this hands-on training workshop mentored by Kanwalpreet Kaur Narula. She advised the students to experiment with this art for creating multiple objects which can be used as accessories and embellishments.

Ludhiana, September 18, 2025: Fashion Design Department of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi conducted One Day String Art Workshop at its campus. This workshop was organized to enhance the creative skills and self confidence among the students. Students from Department of Fashion Design participated in this hands-on training workshop mentored by Kanwalpreet Kaur Narula. She advised the students to experiment with this art for creating multiple objects which can be used as accessories and embellishments.
This workshop offered an opportunity to express complex ideas through intricate patterns and designs for  creating unique aesthetic appeal in clothing and accessories. 
Jaspreet, a student of Second year, felt  “This workshop was an intense yet fulfilling experience. Her learning was how strings can be used to create detailed, handcrafted designs directly on clothing. Meanwhile, Nikita, a first year student, noted, “Learning techniques from a professional and implementing them to create unique designs was really an outstanding experience.
Prof. Gurleen Kaur, Head Fashion Design asserted that the objective of this workshop was to create aesthetically pleasing designs and patterns using tensioned threads on a base, which can serve decorative purposes in homes or businesses.
Principal GGNIMT Dr. Harpreet Singh congratulated the Faculty Team for their initiative in organizing the workshop, which was an opportunity for the students to learn, experiment, and enjoy the holistic process of creating a canvas with string art. He also advised the students to explore more creative and unique methods of designing.
 Director GGNIMT Prof. Manjit Singh Chabbra  expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the trainers for sharing their professional insights and also the participants who participated in the workshop enthusiastically and with full commitment. He added that the workshop has not only taught a practical skill but has also sown the seeds of confidence, creativity, and independence. Let this be the beginning for many more such initiatives."
