Amritsar, March, 24, 2014: In the series of talent hunt competitions, today was the last day of the Rangoli competition after Mehandi, Phulkari and Stencil Printing, organised by the Department of Lifelong Learning of the Guru Nanak Dev University . As many as 25 students from the Department of Dress Designing Cutting & Tailoring, Fashion Technology, Cosmetology and Computer Applications participated in these competition.
Gurpreet Kaur, Director of the department presided over the function. Meenakshi, Associate Professor from the Department of Architecture, Nidhi Sharma & Ramanjit Kaur were the judges.
In this competition, Poonam Kaur from Department of Cosmetology, Mamta from Dress Designing & Rupinder Kaur from Cosmetology won the First, Second & Third prizes respectively whereas Navpreet Kaur from Fashion Technology won the Consolation prize. While addressing the participants,
Gurpreet Kaur, Director inspired and motivated the participants to explore their hidden talent enabling full channelization of their art. She also appreciated the teacher artists of the department, who are doing an excellent job to train these students and making them self-sufficient and self confident for future life. Tejpal Kaur, Paramjeet Kaur, Gursharan Kaur, Smt. Rubina Sayal and Devika Kumari were also present on the occasion.
