Community Outreach Programme at Government Model Senior Secondary School
The Centre for Public Health, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), Panjab University, organised a community outreach programme at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 23-A, Chandigarh.
Chandigarh, November 6, 2025: The Centre for Public Health, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), Panjab University, organised a community outreach programme at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 23-A, Chandigarh.
The programme was organised under the mentorship of Dr. Manoj Kumar, Chairperson, and Dr. Parveen Goyal, Programme Coordinator, NSS, in the presence of faculty members of the department.
The Principal of the school, Nina Rastogi, along with the school faculty, also graced the event. Public health students Dr. Pihu Vashisht, Shivani, and Sagar led awareness sessions titled “Basics of First Aid,” “Menstrual Hygiene,” and “Climate Change” respectively.
The sessions equipped students with vital knowledge on first aid, menstrual hygiene, and climate change. They learned essential life-saving techniques for handling minor injuries and emergencies, gained awareness about menstrual health and hygiene practices, and understood the impact of climate change along with sustainable actions such as waste segregation, energy conservation, and tree plantation.
