Community Outreach Program under mentorship of Chairperson Dr. Manoj Kumar

Centre for Public Health, Panjab University organised a community outreach program under the mentorship of Chairperson Dr. Manoj Kumar, in collaboration with Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandir (UAAM), Sector 25, Chandigarh. The event was conducted in the presence of faculty members Dr. Paravreet Kaur and Poonam Sharma. The Medical Officer of UAAM along with the health centre staff graced the program.

Chandigarh, 18 November 2025: Centre for Public Health, Panjab University organised a community outreach program under the mentorship of Chairperson Dr. Manoj Kumar, in collaboration with Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandir (UAAM), Sector 25, Chandigarh. The event was conducted in the presence of faculty members Dr. Paravreet Kaur and Poonam Sharma. The Medical Officer of UAAM along with the health centre staff graced the program.

The awareness sessions were led by public health students Samleen Kaur and Stanzin Angmo, who addressed crucial community health topics. Samleen Kaur delivered an informative session on Anaemia, highlighting its causes, symptoms, prevention strategies and the importance of nutrition in maintaining healthy haemoglobin levels.

She emphasised how early detection and timely management can significantly improve overall health.

Stanzin Angmo conducted a session on The Importance of General Health Check-Ups, stressing the need for regular medical screenings, early identification of diseases and preventive care practices. She encouraged community members to adopt routine check-ups as an essential part of healthy living.

Participants actively engaged in the discussions, expressing that the sessions enhanced their understanding of health issues and motivated them to prioritize their well-being.

The event reaffirmed Panjab University’s commitment to promoting public health education and community welfare through collaborative outreach activities.
