CII & Ludhiana Police Joint Initiative on “Helping Accidental Victims” being launched.

Ludhiana, November 20, 2015: Confederation of Indian Industry Ludhiana Chapter in association with Ludhiana Police Department has taken a joint initiative on Helping Accidental Victims. Under this joint initiative specially designed reflective boards carrying message for city resident to help accidental victims will be mounted at various key locations to spread awareness on the helping accidental victim cause. 
 
Mr Paramraj Singh Umranangal, Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana while inaugurating this joint initiative shared his views and said, “Earlier Hon’ble Supreme Court have issued a notification under which, any one helping accidental victim(s) will not be harassed or interrogated by Police in connection to that particular accident. We have observed that most of the peoples are not much aware about this new law, due to which normally they avoid helping victims of accidents. We really appreciate the efforts being made by CII to promote such a noble cause and I am sure will surely this will help in saving a number of precious lives”.
 
Mr S S Bhogal Chairman, CII Punjab State Council said, “The CII Ludhiana Chapter in the past few years have worked actively and  have taken new initiatives and successfully completed various projects with the support and coordination of City Administration for the development of Ludhiana City and its civil society. I would request other CII Chapters to take forward such noble initiatives in their own cities, as our objective is to save as many as possible lives and serve the humanity”.
 
Sharing his views Chairman, CII Ludhiana Mr Neeraj Satija, said that, “Under this joint initiative specially designed boards will be mounted at various key locations within and outskirts of Ludhiana. As a first phase we have already mounted Boards at Bhaiballa Chowk, Near Westend Mall, Pakhowal Road near Railway crossing  & Circuit House Ludhiana.  During the second phase of this initiative, we will install boards at other remaining locations and city outskirts.  CII would also request city residents to support us in this noble initiative and wherever possible should help people in case of accidents. Saving one life means saving a whole family is the object of this initiative. Also we will soon start this year’s Reflector Stickers Campaign in week or two weeks time. This is another CII initiative taken by our CII Ludhiana team few years back with an objective to promote awareness on importance of obeying traffic rules, saving lives by lower the number on-road accidents happening especially during the winter foggy season. This has now become an annual campaign for CII Ludhiana. Under this initiative specially designed reflector stickers will be installed on bicycles and two wheelers of factory workers working various industries”.
