COLORS Presents ‘Binddii’ — the stirring tale of a daughter’s fight to free her imprisoned mother

They say a mother’s love can turn even the darkest prison into a home. Staying true to its legacy of bold, raw, and zinda-dil storytelling, COLORS presents ‘Binddii’,the stirring saga of a daughter’s fight for justice. Born and raised behind prison walls, Binddii’s entire world is her mother Kajal, whose unwavering love transforms iron bars into a sanctuary of warmth and hope. But their fragile happiness shatters when the law forces Binddii out of jail, no longer shielded by her mother. Set in Mathura, the story follows the innocent girl, who is thrust into a chaotic and hostile world she’s never known. Soon, the past resurfaces, and she discovers that her father, Aviraj had conned her mother, conspiring with Dayanand Chaudhury, a ruthless mafia don, all for the greed of money. Determined to rise against injustice, Binddii takes on a mission to educate herself and one day free Kajal from jail. But as Aviraj and Dayanand close in once again, will Binddii’s fight be enough to bring her mother home? Starring Radhika Muthukumar as Kajal, Sanchi Bhoyar as Binddii, Krushal Ahuja as Aviraj, and Manav Gohil as Dayanand, ‘Binddii’ premieres on 17th September and will air every day at 08:30 pm on COLORS and JioHotstar.

To be seen playing the role of Kajal, Radhika Muthukumar says, “When I first heard Kajal’s story, it broke me from within. A woman who once belonged to a simple, loving family now spends her days behind bars, punished for a crime she never committed. In that bleakness, her little daughter—born and raised within those very prison walls—is her only lifeline, just as Kajal remains her child’s only joy. Imagine a mother weaving a world of love inside prison so her daughter never feels the weight of chains. And yet, beyond those walls lies a harsh contrast—the world outside is far crueler than the prison itself, ruled by men like Aviraj and Dayanand, where danger lurks at every step. Portraying Kajal is not just a role, it is a blessing, because her journey reminds us that even in the darkest corners, a mother’s love is the fiercest force of survival and hope.”

Playing the titular role, Sanchi Bhoyar shares, “Playing Binddii is an honour. She’s a little innocent girl whose whole world is her mother’s love, and for her, the biggest dream is to become her mother’s warrior and one day bring her out of prison. For me, this role felt like a challenge I had to take up as I grow and explore acting. When she is uprooted from her mother and pushed into a world that mocks her, she chooses to fight back with kindness—and that’s what makes her special to me.”

Excited to essay Aviraj, Krushal Ahuja says, “Kajal would move heaven and earth for her daughter, while my character, Aviraj remains unaware he even has a daughter. What’s terrifying about him is that he isn’t a one-note villain. He feels absolutely no remorse as he manipulates his wife, teaming up with Dayanand; he can go to any length for money and that makes him dangerous. This is the first time I’m stepping into a negative character, which makes this journey even more thrilling. As an actor, I’m eager to dive into the darker shades of human behaviour, and I hope the audience embraces me in a role that’s as demanding as it is rewarding.”

Portraying Dayanand, Manav Gohil shares, “Essaying the role of Dayanand meant stepping into the skin of a man who thrives on corruption and control. He’s calculated and knows how to manipulate the system to his advantage. He is an outright evil man who believes his actions are justified and that conviction makes him chilling. There’s no way to humanise Dayanand because his choices are so dark and destructive that you can’t watch him without questioning the cost of power. It feels incredible to breathe life into this role and share it with the audience that has loved me in so many different characters over the years.”
