Col Vinod Joshi inspires students to join armed forces at DAV University
The second day of Deeksharambh 2025, the Student Induction Programme at DAV University, was marked by an impactful and motivational address by Col. Jalandhar, August 5, 2025: The second day of Deeksharambh 2025, the Student Induction Programme at DAV University, was marked by an impactful and motivational address by Col. Vinod Joshi, Commanding Officer of 2 PB BN NCC, Jalandhar. Speaking on the theme “Cadet to Leader: The Journey Through NCC,” Col. Joshi inspired the newly admitted students with stories of courage, discipline, and national service.
In his address, Col. Joshi emphasized the importance of the armed forces in nation-building and highlighted how NCC training equips young individuals with leadership qualities, self-confidence, and a strong sense of duty. He encouraged students to explore careers in the Indian Armed Forces, explaining the various entry routes such as NDA, CDS, and technical entries for both men and women.
The session was not only motivational but also informative, as Col. Joshi elaborated on the eligibility criteria, preparation strategies, and the significance of physical and mental fitness for selection into the armed forces. His engaging talk received an enthusiastic response from the audience, many of whom expressed keen interest in joining NCC and preparing for a career in defence services.

This was followed by an insightful talk by Dr. Sandeep Vij, who introduced the Institutional Innovation Cell (IIC)—a platform that fosters creativity, entrepreneurship, and start-up culture among students, empowering them to turn ideas into action.
The academic orientation continued with a detailed session on the university’s examination policy, delivered by Dr. R.K. Seth, Controller of Examinations. He guided students through the assessment methods, evaluation criteria, and academic expectations, helping them understand how to plan their academic journey effectively. The day concluded with an inspiring session by Prof. A.K. Trivedi, who demystified the path to civil services and offered practical insights on preparing for one of the most prestigious career paths in the country.
