CMRIT organised walkathon on World Environment Day

Bengaluru, June 8, 2022: Cadets from the National Service Scheme (NSS), Rotaract Club, Eco club and the Youth Red Cross, CMR Institute of Technology organized a walkathon marking the occasion of World Environment Day, to spread awareness on the environment protection and a note to ‘SAVE SOIL’, the theme of World Environment Day 2022. The students and faculty joined the event to advertise the message of environment preservation and mitigating climate change.

The participants displayed various messages on the eco-friendly lifestyle and sustainability for public awareness in the form of banners and placards.

“The balance of the earth is disturbed due to various factors such as rising temperatures and increased precipitation. This has increased an array of infectious diseases impacting public health globally. Hence, we need to take utmost care of our environment and promote climate-friendly activities to save our planet”, said Dr Sanjay Jain, Principal.

Further, “We need to save our planet, we need to save the soil. We thus pledge to be the instrument of change on this World Environment Day and save the ecology and keep our earth habitable for the next generations.” added Shobit, Director of Physical Education, CMRIT.
