CMR Institute of Technology Inaugurates Academic Programmes 2026–27, Celebrates Excellence, Innovation and Leadership
CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) marked the beginning of the Academic Year 2026–27 with a grand inaugural ceremony at its campus in Bengaluru. The event celebrated academic excellence, innovation, leadership and the achievements of students, faculty, alumni and industry partners. More than 1,100 students and parents attended the ceremony.
Bengaluru, September 5, 2026: CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) marked the beginning of the Academic Year 2026–27 with a grand inaugural ceremony at its campus in Bengaluru. The event celebrated academic excellence, innovation, leadership and the achievements of students, faculty, alumni and industry partners. More than 1,100 students and parents attended the ceremony.
The inauguration of the academic programmes was led by Vikram Vaidyanathan, Managing Director, Z47, the Chief Guest, who encouraged students to remain curious, embrace emerging technologies and make the most of the opportunities available during their college journey. He stressed the importance of connecting classroom learning with real-world applications and developing leadership through hard work.
Dr. K.C. Ramamurthy, IPS (Retd.), former Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Chairman, CMR Group of Institutions. CMR University and in his Presidential Address, emphasised the importance of holistic student development. He encouraged students to actively engage with teachers and make use of mentoring opportunities, while urging parents to stay involved in their children’s educational journey. He stressed that hard work and lifelong learning are essential for sustained success.
Senior alumni Sarawak Dutta and Uday Wadhera were felicitated for their achievements and contributions to innovation and entrepreneurship.
Earlier, Dr. Sanjay Jain, Principal, CMR Institute of Technology, welcomed the gathering and outlined the institution’s vision of nurturing ambitious and future-ready students. He emphasised CMRIT’s commitment to enabling students to develop the knowledge, skills and values required to become successful professionals and responsible citizens.
The ceremony also recognised the accomplishments of the CMRIT community. A total of 91 students were felicitated for their outstanding achievements in VTU academics, academics, sports and placements, including exceptional performance and the highest placement packages. Faculty members, alumni and industry delegates were also recognised for their valuable contributions to the institution and its academic ecosystem.
The event brought together students, parents, faculty, alumni and distinguished guests, reflecting the strong academic community and industry-academia connect fostered by CMRIT.
The ceremony was attended by K.C. Jaganadha Reddy, Secretary, CMR Jnanadhara Trust; Jayadeep K.R. Reddy, CEO, CMR Group of Institutions and Pro-Chancellor, CMR University, Dr. B. Narasimha Murthy, Vice Principal, CMRIT, Dr. Chitra, Dean, CMRIT, Heads of Departments, faculty members and other distinguished guests from CMR Institute of Technology.
