CMC Ludhiana achieves major milestone of 100+ paediatric surgeries under Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana
Reaffirming the state government's steadfast commitment to universal and equitable healthcare, Punjab Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education & Research Minister Dr Balbir Singh on Sunday felicitated and congratulated the Department of Paediatric Surgery at Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana, for successfully performing over 100 paediatric surgeries under the state’s flagship ‘Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana’ (MMSY).
Ludhiana, October 4, 2026: Reaffirming the state government's steadfast commitment to universal and equitable healthcare, Punjab Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education & Research Minister Dr Balbir Singh on Sunday felicitated and congratulated the Department of Paediatric Surgery at Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana, for successfully performing over 100 paediatric surgeries under the state’s flagship ‘Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana’ (MMSY).
The Health Minister attended a special function organised at CMC Ludhiana to mark the completion of these 100 critical surgeries. Under this healthcare initiative, a wide range of complex paediatric surgical procedures have been conducted, reflecting the institution’s and the state government’s shared commitment to providing comprehensive, advanced surgical care to infants and children across Punjab—irrespective of their socio-economic backgrounds.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Balbir Singh said that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government launched the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana to ensure access to high-standard tertiary medical treatment free of the cost.
Extending his heartiest congratulations to the team of paediatric surgeons, anaesthesiologists, nursing staff, and management of CMC Ludhiana, the Health Minister lauded their exceptional dedication in ensuring that children requiring critical surgical interventions receive treatment with utmost compassion and clinical precision, devoid of any financial constraints. He reiterated that the Punjab Government is relentlessly upgrading healthcare infrastructure across the state so that quality treatment is accessible to the last mile.
The Department of Paediatric Surgery and the administration of CMC Ludhiana expressed their profound gratitude to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh, and the Punjab Government for their proactive patronage and support.
