CMC Hospital staff and faculty hold cultural evening

Ludhiana, March 26, 2019: To mark the Quasquicentennial(125 year) celebrations, Christian Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana held an institutional function on 25th March for its faculty and staff. This event was named as 'Muqaam 125’.
On this occasion, the administration and employeesfrom all sections remembered and paid tributes to CMC’s Founder, Dame Edith Mary Brown.Dr. William Bhatti, Director, CMC addressed the audience and wished them a fun filled evening. The Principals of various colleges-Dr. Jeyaraj D Pandian (Medical College), Dr. Abi M Thomas (Dental College), Dr. Reena Jairus (College of Nursing) and Dr. Sandeep Saini (College of Physiotherapy), were also present among other guests.
Dr. Bharti Uppal and Mrs. Sapna who handled the stage proceedings made the event lively with their witty remarks. The participation in the cultural events was from all sections of the staff and included songs, Bhangra,Rajasthani and other dances. The audience cheered loudly as various staff and faculty showcased their talent. The staff from the College of nursing performed a skit on the history of development of nursing services at CMC over the years. Other staff also recited poems and sang songs. Interviews of some retired hospital employees about their time spent in CMC were also played on the screen.
Dr. Sybil Singh from the pioneer batch of MBBS (1953) also graced the occasion. The event was followed by dinner. Over 1000 people attended this event. More events to mark the 125 year celebrations have been planned throughout the year.
