Extending greetings to all Punjabis on the occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Parkash Purab, the Chief Minister said he prayed for further strengthening of communal harmony, peace, and brotherhood in the state. He added that not only Sikhs but every Punjabi receives divine blessings at this sacred place. Bhagwant Singh Mann further said that on this auspicious day, lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad are paying obeisance at the holy shrine.
The Chief Minister said that a jatha of devotees from Punjab has also travelled to Nankana Sahib in Pakistan to participate in the Parkash Purab celebrations and seek blessings at the sacred birthplace of the First Guru. He stated that the people of Punjab have entrusted his government with the great responsibility of serving the state, and he has bowed at this divine shrine to seek the Almighty’s blessings for strength and guidance. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he feels deeply blessed after offering prayers here and that the visit has filled him with renewed zeal and dedication to continue serving the people of Punjab with missionary spirit.
Asked to comment on the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor, the Chief Minister said that the Union Government should reopen it immediately. He urged that keeping in view the sentiments of the devotees, the Union Home Ministry should immediately initiate the process of reopening the corridor so that devotees can have darshan of the sacred site sanctified by the footsteps of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Bhagwant Singh Mann added that devotees from India return within just four hours after visiting Kartarpur Sahib, hence there seems no logical reason to keep the corridor closed adding that since a jatha of Sikh devotees has already travelled to Pakistan, there should be no delay in reopening the Kartarpur Corridor either.
