Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has congratulated Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, after 25 of its researchers featured in the world’s top 2% scientists list compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier.
Rohtak, October 9, 2026: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has congratulated Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, after 25 of its researchers featured in the world’s top 2% scientists list compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier.
The researchers have been recognised for their research contributions in 2025 in the Updated Science-Wide Author Databases of Standardised Citation Indicators, released by Elsevier BV on October 7, 2026. The list includes 16 faculty members and nine research scholars from MDU.
Calling the achievement a matter of pride for Haryana, Saini said the recognition reflected the university’s contribution to higher education, scientific research and innovation, bringing laurels to the state and the country.
MDU vice-chancellor Prof Milap Poonia thanked the chief minister for acknowledging the university’s research achievements. He said the recognition would encourage faculty members and scholars to pursue excellence in research and innovation.
Prof Poonia added that MDU remained committed to promoting quality research, scientific innovation and academic excellence, expressing confidence that its researchers would continue to earn national and international recognition.
