CM EXHORTS PEOPLE TO EMULATE IDEALS OF SRI GURU TEG BAHADUR

Chandigarh, November 22, 2017: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has exhorted the people to uphold and emulate the high ideals of secularism and humanitarianism embodied by the Ninth Sikh Guru Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.

In a message on the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, the Chief Minister urged people to imbibe the spirit of self-sacrifice preached and practiced by ‘Hind Di Chaadar’, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, who laid down his life to safeguard the freedom of worship, besides upholding the human and secular values.

The Bani of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, which is included in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, preaches the message of oneness of mankind, universal brotherhood, righteousness, valour and compassion, which need to be followed by one and all, said the Chief Minister.

Guru ji’s supreme sacrifice as protector of Dharma was unparalleled in the history of mankind and stands out as an example for humanity, he added.

RANA K.P. SINGH CALLS UPON TO FOLLOW TEACHINGS OF GURU TEGH BAHADUR JI

Chandigarh November 22, 2017: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana K.P. Singh today called upon the people to follow the ideals of secularism, humanism and spirit of sacrifice as preached and practiced by 'Hind Di Chaadar'-the ninth Guru Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.

In his message on the eve of 'Shaheedi Divas' of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib, Rana K.P. Singh said that "Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur's martyrdom day is a solemn occasion to remember the glory of his supreme sacrifice who laid down his life to protect right of freedom to worship and preserve human and secular values." He said that Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was a selfless, courageous leader who taught all of us to seek strength from truth, worship and knowledge.

Speaker said that Bani of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji in Sri Guru Granth Sahib preaches oneness of mankind, universal brotherhood, valour, righteousness and compassion. Our real homage to the great Guru Sahib would be to follow his teachings in true spirit and strive to be worthy of his noble legacy," he added.
