CLS Poetry Writing Competition Winners awarded

Chandigarh Literary Society (CLS) organised the prize distribution function for the winners of the CLS Annual Poetry Writing Competition, at Rotary House today.

Chandigarh, July 30, 2022:  Chandigarh Literary Society (CLS) organised the prize distribution function for the winners of the CLS Annual Poetry Writing Competition, at Rotary House today.

The competition was organised earlier this year inviting online entries in English, Hindi, and Panjabi, for which 112 entries were received in all, and after being judged by a panel of judges, the winners were selected.

The winners of English poetry were Jahanvi Gogoi bagging the First prize, Mihika Jindal, Second, and Third prize was shared by Gopi Kottor and Anu Girdhar, with fourth prize winner being Shiv Kumar Iyer.

For Hindi section, Neelam Narang was adjudged the First, Madhu Saxena, Second; Shivangi Shrivastava, Third; and Sandeep Rawat on the Fourth position.  

In Punjabi, the First prize was won by Sunita Uppal, Shamsheel Singh Sodhi, Second and Parneet Kaur on third position.
CLS Chairperson Dr Sumita Misra, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary Haryana gave away the prizes to the winners of the competition, and said that CLS organizes various competitions throughout the year besides its annual signature event Literati, the Chandigarh Lit Fest.

There had been tremendous response to all our online competition which CLS had been organising from time to time for the last several years because of the anonymity that this online medium provides especially to the poetry writers, said Sumita Misra.
