Rohtak, October 2, 2026: The National Service Scheme (NSS) units of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) organised a cleanliness drive across the campus on Thursday, reaffirming the message of ‘Cleanliness Is Service’.
MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof Milap Poonia flagged off the one-day NSS cleanliness camp and awareness rally. Registrar Prof Sandeep Bansal, Dean Students’ Welfare Prof Sapna Garg, Director Prof Anju Dhiman, Director Sports Kultaj Singh and other university officials and staff were present.
VC Prof Poonia said NSS volunteers were playing a key role in taking forward Mahatma Gandhi’s enduring message of cleanliness. He said cleanliness should become a way of life rather than remain limited to campaigns.
Under the guidance of NSS programme officers Dr Vikas, Dr Gurdyal, Dr Neetu Rani and Dr Sherry, volunteers collected polythene, plastic wrappers and other waste and cleaned roads and public spaces across the campus.
The volunteers also urged students, faculty and staff to contribute to keeping the university campus clean and litter-free.
