CITU activists hold protest

Ludhiana: Trade Union activists under the banner of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) on Monday staged a protest in the city, to highlight the problems of the workers. They held a rally at Chatar Singh Park and then staged a protest march to the Mini Secretariat. Addressing the protestors, former MLA Tarsem Jodhan regretted that the construction work was almost standstill. As a result, a large number of workers were sitting idle. Jodhan and other leaders strongly opposed contract system. They also sought the inclusion of ASHA and mid-day meal workers within the purview of minimum wages.
