Ludhiana, March 4, 2026: Participants in a joint protest by the Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD, Social Thinkers Forum and Bharat Jan Gyan Vigyan Jatha at the Mini Secretariat Ludhiana unequivocally Condemned the US-Israel military aggression against Iran. This brazen display of imperial power has unleashed devastation, destabilised an already fragile region, and pushed millions of civilians into fear and uncertainty. As in every war, the gravest suffering is borne by women and children. The reported attack on civilian infrastructure, including a primary school leading to the death of 153 innocent children, exposes the brutal and indefensible character of this aggression.
Those who spoke on the occasion included Dr. Arun Mitra, M. S. Bhatia, Surinder Kaur Gill, Dr. Gurcharan Kaur Kochhar, Dr. Kusam Lata, Dr. Pragya Sharma, Ramesh Rattan, Gurwant Singh, Dr. Param Saini, Inderjit Singh Sodhi, Dr. Ranjit Singh, Dr. Seerat, Malkit Malra, Bharat Bhushan Goyal.
They said this assault constitutes a blatant violation of national sovereignty, international law, and the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter. Military action undertaken in the midst of diplomatic negotiations reveals duplicity and underscores that regime-change ambitions, not peace or democracy, drive such interventions. The right to criticise or change a government belongs solely to the people of that nation — not to foreign powers pursuing strategic dominance.
Adding, they said the consequences extend far beyond Iran’s borders. Regional instability threatens global peace, international security, energy stability, and the lives and livelihoods of millions — including a large number of Indians, nearly 10 million, working in West Asia.
“We express unwavering solidarity with the people of Iran, especially women and children, who are paying the heaviest price for geopolitical adventurism. It is a matter of deep concern that this escalation follows high-level diplomatic engagements in the region. The Government of India must adopt a clear, principled stand against this unlawful aggression on a longstanding friendly nation and urgently initiate diplomatic efforts toward immediate cessation of hostilities and restoration of peace.”, they said, adding, “War is not a solution. It is a catastrophe imposed upon the innocent.”
The protesters, who started in the form of a march from Punjabi Bhawan and reached the Deputy Commissioner's office, burned effigies of Donald Trump and Netanyahu.
On this occasion, among others, Ajit Javadi, Avtar Chhibbar, Ramadhar Singh, Ram Chand, Dr. SK Nagesh, Anod Kumar, Karan Rai, Jai Prakash Narayan, Joginder Pal, BM Frederick, Kanwal Narula, Dan Singh and Charan Singh were present.
