Mohali, April 23, 2022: In an effort to continue bringing the benefits of technological progress to underserved populations - CIIE.CO’s Bharat Inclusion Initiative (BII) hosted a roadshow for tricity’s and region's budding entrepreneurs and innovators to provide incubation and acceleration support on the sidelines of its 6th Financial Inclusion Lab Cohort programme was held at STPI, Incubation Center, Mohali here.
 
Commenting on the Chandigarh roadshow, Aditya SG Vyas - Assistant Vice President – CIIE.CO said, “We have received positive participation in the Cohort from Chandigarh where we witnessed some innovative ideas and met founders who are making technology-enabled solutions. A startup’s initial stage requires the correct mentorship, capital with insights, and we are glad to provide entrepreneurs all the help to become the next industry disruptors.”
 
Bharat Inclusion Initiative(BII) has hosted these exclusive roadshows in 15 cities of India and connected with over 750 startups across different states. Aimed to support innovations that aid in making mainstream financial products more inclusive for low-and-middle-income households and micro-enterprises at scale, BII hosted roadshows in all major cities like Delhi, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, amongst others, where they invited early-stage startups and entrepreneurs building for low and middle income (LMI) segments in purpose-driven areas across FinTech, Livelihood, and skilling. Tricity also witnessed Chandigarh 


BII invited startup applications across sectors who are building disruptive solutions for Bharat with the goal to enhance livelihood opportunities and the financial health of lower-income participants. It aims to enable startups to build contextualised solutions for the underserved communities.

 
The roadshow hosted budding entrepreneurs followed by a brief introduction on the CIIE.CO’s role in accelerating, incubating and supporting startups through their various programs. The selected startups will have access to a contextualised bouquet of services including capital support up to INR 25 Lakh for market validation and investor connections alongside expert guidance, technical assistance by MSC Consulting and service partner support worth over 50 Lakh. Building an ecosystem of entrepreneurs enabling scale through innovative products and partnerships to reach low-income customers residing in remote areas, BII is serving domain knowledge, training, financial support, mentorship and market access they need to bring inclusive, for-profit businesses to life. It supports businesses serving the Indian mass market through programs, fellowships and funding where possible. Supported by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, J. P. Morgan, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, MetLife Foundation, Omidyar Network, and in collaboration with MSC Consulting, BII has incubated more than 42 startups in the past 5 Cohorts, who have cumulatively raised over $80 million in funding serving 30 million customers.
