CII should focus on the interstate exchange of artists: Purohit

Chandigarh, March 3, 2023: The annual session of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Chandigarh held here today. Vivek Gupta, Director, NEC Packaging Ltd is elected as Chairman for the year 2023-24.  Gupta did his senior Cambridge from St. Johns High School, Chandigarh and graduated in Commerce from Government College for Men. He has a Clarified Fruit Juice Concentrate plant at UNA, Himachal Pradesh. The unit processes more than 15000 MT of Apples and other fruits and vegetables.
 
Anurag Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, Usha Yarns ltd is elected as Vice Chairman of CII Chandigarh UT for the year 2023-24. Usha Yarns was incorporated in 1995 for the manufacture of recycled yarns the company is a leader in its segment of recycled yarns with strong sustainability credentials turnover for the year 2021-22 was in the range of 255 cr. He is a founder of the company and helped steer the company in pioneering high-quality recycled cotton yarns.
 
Coinciding with Annual Session, a Session on Arts and Culture: An Integral Element in Socio-Economic Development was organized. Sharing his thoughts on Arts and Culture here today, Banwarilal Purohit, Governor, Punjab & Administrator, U T Chandigarh said, “CII should focus on the interstate exchange of artists, it will not only help in enriching the Arts but also have a socio-economic benefit.”
 
Speaking on the occasion  Chakresh Kumar, Director Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh shares his vision for this cultural hub of Tricity.
 
Speaking on the holistic development of Chandigarh here today,  Deepika Gandhi, Associate Professor, Chandigarh College of Architecture said, “The city needs to have dedicated policies on Tourism, Public Art and culture as it will help to strengthen the Arts & Culture ecosystem in Chandigarh.”
