CII Green Cementech 2025: Driving Sustainability in the Cement Sector

The 21st edition of CII Green Cementech, a platform driving sustainability in the cement sector, got underway at HICC, Hyderabad today. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in partnership with the Cement Manufacturers Association (CMA), is organizing this annual cement conference on 15th & 16th May.

Hyderabad May 15, 2025: The 21st edition of CII Green Cementech, a platform driving sustainability in the cement sector, got underway at HICC, Hyderabad today. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in partnership with the Cement Manufacturers Association (CMA), is organizing this annual cement conference on 15th & 16th May.

India is the second-largest cement producer in the world. Recognizing the sector’s energy-intensive nature and its environmental implications, CII Green Cementech 2025 aims to explore innovative strategies and initiatives to reduce the industry’s carbon footprint.

With the theme “Road towards Net Zero Carbon,” the Green Cementech 2025 provides a dynamic platform for cement industry leaders and sustainability professionals to share, showcase, and discuss latest developments in the net-zero transition. 

In the opening session of the event, Ajay Kapur, Chairman – Green Cementech 2025& Managing Director, Ambuja Cements Limited (Adani Group), said, “Green/ Sustainability actually means competition which in turn leads to growth. To truly embed change, we must continue integrating futuristic technologies that transform how we produce, move, and think about cement. The path ahead is challenging, but filled with opportunity—and today, I feel more optimistic than ever about what we can build together.”

S Sreekanth Reddy, Jt.Managing Director, Sagar Cements Ltd., emphasized, “There is immense potential for deep decarbonization in the cement industry—driven by renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and digital innovations.”
In his remarks, Dr. Raju Goyal, Co-Chairman of Green Cementech 2025 & Chief Technical & Chief Sustainability Officer, UltraTech Cement Limited, highlighted that the cement sector in India stands as one of the most efficient in the world—delivering both economic and environmental value. 

Shekhar Reddy, National Vice-Chairman, Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), emphasized that the momentum for green buildings is further driven by the increasing availability of certified green products and incentives that support sustainable choices across the building sector.

With 10+ technical sessions, 50+ national and international speakers and 70+ stalls showcasing the latest technologies and services, this event presents a unique opportunity for cement professionals to network with peers, technology providers and thought leaders driving the sustainability agenda in the sector.
