Ludhiana: Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) has written a request letter to Prime Minister, Minister of Railways and Chief Minister of Punjab to start adequate train service, so that they can come back and join the jobs and earn their livelihood.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, President  Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, CICU in a joint statement said that due to present COVID-19 situation labour was sent back to their native places without charging ticket.
Presently, labour is in trouble at their respective native places and calling their respective firms to call them back as they have no money left for day to day expenses like food, phone bill, and are willing to work. Only hurdle is transporting to come back. On the other hand, industrial output is 40 per cent only, one of the reason is labour shortage, they said.
