CICU organised 3-day certified training program on heat-treatment processes, microstructure and properties of steels to improve product quality

Ludhiana, May 16, 2022: Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) has been organizing numbers of Seminars/ Workshops for the up-gradation of the skills of the industry and trade sectors of Punjab and a 3-day certified training program on heat-treatment processes, microstructure & properties of steels to improve product quality was organized at CICU Complex, Ludhiana.

Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, CICU said that the objective of this program is to provide in-depth Practical & Theoretical knowledge about the metallurgical process. Ferrous Metals used in the various industries. Metallurgy is a domain of material science and engineering that studies the physical and chemical behavior of metallic elements, their inter-metallic compounds, and their mixtures, which are called alloys. The training will definitely help the participants to improve their product quality.

The interactive & thought provoking training program was conducted by  N.K Khullar, who is a B.E in (Metallurgical Engineering) from IIT, Roorkee with 45+ years of experience in Automotive and Engineering industries like M/s Uniparts India Ltd., M/s ARB Bearing Ltd., M/s Sadhu Forgings Pvt. Ltd. and many other leading manufacturing industries. He is an expert in his field and now, independently running a metallurgical testing laboratory at NOIDA-U.P. with the name of Cosmo Analytical Lab is an NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories) accredited lab in accordance to ISO/IEC: 17025.

In his 3-day session he was covered following sessions i.e. iron and steel, principles of heat treatment of steel making, mechanical testing hardness rockwell, brinell & vickers, microstructure examination, heat treatment process of steels, tensile & impact testing, heat-treatment defects & solutions, practical’s of heat treatment process: normalizing, hardness, tempering, practical training of hardness testing, non ferrous metals and cast, iron, aluminum & copper, grey iron & sg iron, testing & discussions, practical training of tensile testing and heat treatment of aluminum.

The training was attended by the 30 participants and certificates to all participants were distributed.
