CICU Organised 17th National Kaizen Competition 2026
34 Teams from Across India Participated & Showcase Excellence in Continuous Improvement
Ludhiana, January 23, 2026: The Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) organised the 17th National Kaizen Competition 2026 at CICU Complex, Focal Point, Ludhiana on 21st January 2026, witnessed an overwhelming participation of 34 teams from various industrial sectors, all were showcasing their innovative Kaizen techniques aimed at enhancing quality, improving productivity and reducing operational costs within their companies.
The competition brought together a diverse group of industrialists and professionals who presented real-life case studies, demonstrating the application of Kaizen – a Japanese management concept centred on continuous improvement. Teams shared their success stories, highlighting the positive outcomes of their Kaizen initiatives in streamlining processes, enhancing employee engagement and contributing to the overall efficiency of their respective organizations.
During the competition, the participants displayed a range of Kaizen methodologies that focused on cost reduction, process optimization, waste minimization and quality improvement. The event also provided a platform for knowledge-sharing among industry peers, as they exchanged ideas, techniques and best practices to drive sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, President CICU said that Kaizen has been proven to bring quantum benefits to the company and employees whilst simplifying processes, eliminating waste, saving costs and other intangible benefits. It is a fact that the best ideas are born from the exchange and sharing of knowledge and experience. He further said that the objective of this Competition is to motivate for practicing KAIZEN & make it a way of LIFE. This Event provided the opportunity to understand the philosophies, listen to Companies who have successfully developed Kaizen as a culture and also provided a competitive Arena to witness and share the best Kaizen implemented.
The competition was judged by jury members comprising eminent professionals i.e. Dr. Arvind Dhingra, Prof. GNDEC Ludhiana, Mr. Debanshu Sanyal Industry Expert & Techno Functional Professional and Dr. Talwinder Bedi Manager Admin & Operations of Centre of Business Excellence.

J.S. Bhogal, Organizing Secretary CICU & CEO Uniparts India Ltd. told about the importance of organising competitions for learning other industrial units. He further said that the response to this Competition is overwhelming, both from participating teams and attending delegates, as well as Trade & Industrial bodies in the region that have been enthusiastic in their support.
