CICU Indoor Games Day 2026 Concludes with Enthusiasm; Sportsmanship and Community Spirit Take Centre Stage

Ludhiana, August 9, 2026: The two-day CICU Indoor Games Day 2026, organised by the Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU), concluded at the CICU Complex, Focal Point, Ludhiana, with enthusiastic participation from professionals, youngsters and industry members. The sporting event provided a vibrant platform for the industrial fraternity to come together beyond their regular professional engagements and promote fitness, healthy competition and community bonding. The concluding day witnessed keenly contested matches in Table Tennis, Chess and Carrom, with participants displaying a high level of skill, concentration, strategic thinking and sporting spirit.
The Table Tennis competitions remained one of the major attractions of the event, with matches organised across various categories including Men’s, Women’s, Under-17 & Under-19 Girls, Veterans and Lucky Doubles. The Women’s Singles category witnessed particularly exciting competition, with players engaging in fast-paced rallies and closely fought exchanges. In the Women’s Singles Table Tennis, Yashvi emerged as the champion, while Jasmeen secured the runner-up position. Bhavya and Sanchi jointly secured the third position. The Under-17 & Under-19 Girls, Veterans and Lucky Doubles categories also witnessed spirited participation, reflecting the growing interest in indoor sports among different age groups within the CICU community.
Chess Tests Strategic Skills
The Chess competition brought together participants in a battle of strategy, patience and precision. Players remained engaged in intense contests, carefully planning their moves and demonstrating strong tactical abilities. Arjunveer Singh emerged as the Chess Champion, with Inzmam finishing as the Runner-Up and Gavya Jain securing the third position.
Carrom Matches Witness Close Contests
The Carrom competition also attracted considerable attention, with participants displaying exceptional concentration, accuracy and control throughout the matches. Dr. Sunil Garg emerged as the Carrom Champion, followed by Manish Kukreti as the Runner-Up and Dr. Satish Kumar Gupta at the third position. The competitions throughout the two-day event witnessed a healthy mix of experience and youthful energy, reinforcing the importance of sports as a means of developing discipline, teamwork, strategic thinking and resilience.
Addressing participants during the concluding ceremony, Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, CICU, emphasised the importance of physical and mental well-being for professionals and the industrial community. He said that sports should not be viewed merely as a recreational activity but as an important means of developing discipline, strategic thinking, resilience and stronger interpersonal relationships. He said that a healthy body is among the greatest forms of wealth and that playing together strengthens mutual relationships. He further stated that the participation of members of the industrial fraternity in the Indoor Games Day demonstrated that professional success and physical well-being must go hand in hand. Such initiatives, he added, help employees, entrepreneurs and industry members step away from their routine work environment, interact with one another and develop a stronger sense of community.
