CICU Hosts PSIEC Facilitation Camp, Draws Over 200 Industrialists Under ‘Sarkaar Tuhade Dwar’ Initiative

Ludhiana, April 24, 2026: The Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) organised a dedicated facilitation camp in collaboration with the Punjab State Industrial Export Corporation (PSIEC) to assist industrialists with the process of leasehold to freehold conversion. Held under the Punjab Government’s flagship programme “Sarkaar Tuhade Dwar,” the camp witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 200 industrialists attending and submitting applications on-site.
The camp, hosted at the CICU Complex in Focal Point, brought government services directly to the industry’s doorstep. A senior team from the Estate Office of PSIEC remained present throughout the session, providing hands-on support in filling application forms, calculating conversion charges, and addressing various estate-related concerns. The initiative significantly reduced procedural hurdles and enabled participants to complete formalities in a single visit.
The visiting PSIEC team was led by Ankur Choudhary, Senior Estate Officer, along with Rajat Thamman, Senior Assistant, and Kamalpreet, Assistant Estate Officer (AEO). Their presence ensured real-time guidance and swift handling of applications, which was widely appreciated by attendees. Industrialists described the camp as a much-needed intervention, noting that such initiatives save time, minimise paperwork delays, and improve transparency in dealings with regulatory bodies. Many participants were able to clarify long-pending queries and proceed confidently with their applications.
Speaking on the occasion, Honey Sethi, General Secretary of CICU, emphasised the importance of direct engagement between authorities and industry stakeholders. “This facilitation camp is a clear reflection of our commitment to supporting industrialists by simplifying complex procedures. By bringing PSIEC officials under one roof, we have ensured that concerns related to leasehold to freehold conversion are addressed efficiently and transparently. Such initiatives are crucial for strengthening trust and improving ease of doing business,” he said.
He further added, “Our President, Upkar Singh Ahuja, has always been at the forefront of advocating for industry concerns. His continuous support and visionary leadership motivate us to organise such impactful programmes that directly benefit the industrial community.”
CICU officials stated that the enthusiastic participation at the camp highlights the growing need for streamlined and accessible government services. The chamber reiterated its commitment to organising similar initiatives in the future to address key challenges faced by the industry.
The successful conduct of the camp aligns with the broader vision of the Punjab Government’s “Sarkaar Tuhade Dwar” initiative, which aims to deliver citizen-centric services efficiently at the grassroots level. Through this effort, CICU has once again reinforced its role as a proactive facilitator, bridging the gap between government authorities and the industrial sector while contributing to the region’s economic growth.
