CICU highly condemns PSERC decision for increasing 50 paisa per unit for industrial consumers

Ludhiana, March 30, 2023: Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, J.S Bhogal, Organizing Secretary, Honey Sethi, Legal Secretary CICU in a joint press statement mentioned that PSERC issued circular dated March 28, 2023, in which PSPCL increased 50 Paisa per unit for Industry from 01.04.2023 and Annually 3% additional price per unit will be increased.

They said that MSMEs are already reeling under huge losses. The dearth of raw materials has already escalated the cost of manufacturing and not in a situation to bear this additional burden, as the industry is already paying high prices, Rs. 8 to 12 per unit of electricity. Due to this additional decision, the industry will face 60 paisa per unit by adding tax.

CICU in its letter requested Bhagwant Mann, Chief Minister, Punjab to withdraw this unfavourable decision and give 5 Rs per unit to MSME, so they can survive in this competitive era.
