CICU held “Viewing Session & Analysis by Economists on Interim Budget-2024-25”

Ludhiana, February 1, 2024: CICU held a Viewing & Analysis Session by Economists on the Interim Budget-2024-25 presented today by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Professional and Industry experts shared their views post announcement of budget.
 
Upkar Singh Ahuja, President CICU stated the budget to be of high-hopes for the middle class and appreciated the governments concern about uplifting the logistics and aiming to add three more rail corridors for Energy, cement and mineral. He also praised the announcement of Rooftop solarisation and for encouraging the private sector to scale up R&D by making 1-lakh crore corpus available.
 
In the session, Honey Sethi (General Secretary-CICU), Dr. S.B. Singh (Joint Secretary--CICU), J.S. Bhogal (Publicity Secretary--CICU), Gautam Malhotra (VP-CICU), Sarbjit Singh (CICU- Export committee Co-Convenor), Ajay Bharti and CA Mantosh Kumar Gupta were also present and lauded the budget believing this to be a long vision budget.

Govt’s target of fiscal deficit at 5.1% of GDP, encouraging tourism by introducing long term interest free loans to the states, 40,000 rail bogies to convert to Vande Bharat standards and roof top solar panels by which 1cr households will be enabled to get 300 units per month fully free, all these announcement in the budget remained the points of discussion.

Among the industrialists, Rajnish Ahuja, Amarjit Singh, Jaspal Singh Shahpuri, Rohit Pahwa, S.S. Passi, Jaspal Singh Sall, Gurmel Singh, Ravinder Saini, Mandeep Singh Soori and Davinder Singh Panesar were also present and shared their views on the budget.
