Ludhiana, July 29, 2015: H.E.Mr.Bothata Tsikoane, High Commissioner of Lesotho in India interacted with Industry Leaders/Decision Makers to boost export and increase bilateral trade with Lesotho, which is often referred to as “Switzerland of Africa”. He said that USA President, Mr.Barack Obama during his recent visit to Africa said that “Africa is on the move and one of the fastest growing regions in the world. One thing we have come to understand particularly with Africa is that Government has a role in promoting transparency to encourage entrepreneurship. Gone are the days when Africa was viewed of its indignity and mercy but today it is viewed as the land of opportunities”.
Mr. Bothata further said that increasing export to Lesotho and becoming privileged partners will pursue National objective of “Make in India” initiative of Hon’lbe Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi. He invited Punjab companies for export of pharmaceutical products, readymade garments, agriculture machinery & equipments and organic fertilizers, biomass briquetting plant, knitted garments & knitted fabric, Light Engineering Goods and Bicycle Spare Parts, vegetable oil milling & refining plants, Telecommunication Products. 
During the welcome remarks Sh. Avtar Singh President CICU said that this event will provide information on the growing economy, export potential and ease of doing business with Lesotho. The main objective of this program is to make contacts and learn more about the economic & financial benefits of export to Lesotho and assistance available to expand business like manufacturing, trading services through Lesotho National Development Corporation (LNDC) with its diverse range of services, licensing and banking facilities.
Sh. Upkar Singh Ahuja General Secretary CICU in his concluding remarks said that trade in Punjab region is all set to get tremendous boost due to excellent opportunities specially exports highlighted in this program, which will usher a golden era to support, promote, facilitate and accelerate by-lateral trade for mutual benefits. This mega opportunity will also enhance prosperity, generate employment and transform Punjab’s economy. Participants were given an inside into how they can boost export and expand their operations and grow their business.
During B2B meeting held with potential exporters more detailed information, guidance and counseling to 21 industrialists was provided by Mr. Bothata Tsikoane & Mrs. Mapulane Tsikoane.
