CICU discuss issues with senior NHAI Officers

Ludhiana: Refer to communication with Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, IAS Chairman, a high level team of Senior Officials from NHAI visited Ludhiana to discuss the problems related to congestion on NHAI with Ludhiana. Key problems like exit and entry points within the city, congestion on service roads, Draining Systems, Pathetic condition of under bridge, congestion at Sherpur Chowk etc.

NHAI team visited the sites and had a detailed meeting with representative of CICU. CICU laid emphasis on improvement of design of NHAI as this was designed for 30 years back and with passage of time, requirement of city has changed.
NHAI team updated that Sherpur and Tajpur road exit points are being upgraded and tender in process and Sahnewal junction is also being upgraded.

Regarding draining of water they requested CICU to support in upgrade the Rain Water Harvesting and other issues like adoption of green belts. It will help in reducing  congestion during rainy seasons.

CICU also requested that Dhandari flyover to extend by crossing over G.T Road to reduce congestion to Focal Point. As more than 10000 industry exits in this area and maximum traffic.

The meeting was attended by Varinder Singh, Project Director, NHAI, Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, CICU, Ashok Sharma Sanjay and Narender, SOMA Roadis, A.K. Supnekar, Honey Sethi, organizing Secretary, Didarjit Singh, Vice President, and Sanjeev Gupta.
