CICU & DIC organized mass tree plantation at District Industry Centre
Ludhiana, September 18, 2019: Today, 250 plants has been planted in District Industry Centre with the motive to keep the city green. Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana, said that from more than 20 years CICU annually planting 5,000 trees in the city, so that the environment future of Smart City Ludhiana remains eco-friendly. CICU is giving free plants and drill machine for the convenient of the industry to keep environment safe. Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, CICU, said that protection of environment is of paramount importance now-a-days. There is an urgent need for maintaining greenery in order to reduce the adverse impact of pollution. Mahesh Khanna, GM, DIC, Ludhiana, appreciated the work of CICU for protecting environment. He said that the good environment is need of hours and we should also plant the tree in our homes as well as in the factories. Iqbal Singh Sonu, Councillor, Ward No-51, Ludhiana and as an industrialist also appreciated the work being done by CICU to maintain greenery in the Ludhiana. On this occasion, more than 50 industrialists and DIC officials were present. They included Sukhwinder Singh Rekhi, Functional Manager, DIC, M.S Ubhi, Harmeet Singh Bhalla,, Surinder Singh, Ved Parkash Ahuja, Ravinder Saini and other prominent member of the Chamber.
