CICU Delegation visits DGFT RA Ludhiana

Ludhiana, January 12, 2024: CICU Delegation headed by Upkar Singh – President CICU visited DGFT RA Ludhiana and met Utpal Achaarya, Jt. DGFT and Sandeep Rajauriya (Asst. DGFT).

The CICU team was composed of Didarjit Singh (VP- CICU), Sarabjit Singh (Co-Convener, CICU Export Committee) and Gautam Malhotra (VP-CICU).   
 
The delegation discussed various issues faced by the CICU exporter members. Major point discussed was about the news slabs given under FTP-2023  regarding Status holder certification and extension of the export obligation period for advance and EPCG authorizations.  

Ahuja stated that post covid Exporters have lost many customers and are finding this difficult to maintain the export performance , hence they are facing difficulty in fulfilling the export obligation within the period granted to them. So, a request to enhance the export obligation period was made.

Roles and obligations of supporting manufacturers under EPCG license were also discussed by the delegation. Considering the congestion at Ludhiana, it was also discussed to strengthen the train frequency and reduce the transit time of trains carrying the goods to port
 

The DGFT team appreciated the gesture and efforts of the CICU team and assured to extend the full cooperation in CICU’s endeavour of promoting the trade from Ludhiana.
Meeting was ended on a very good note for the benefit of the trade.
