The delegation was led by CICU President Upkar Singh Ahuja, and included prominent office bearers Honey Sethi, General Secretary CICU;  J.S. Bhogal, Organising Secretary CICU;  Sanjay Dhiman, Vice President CICU;  Didarjit Singh Lotey, Vice President CICU; and  Parmvir Singh, an active industrialist and member of CICU.

During the cordial interaction held at the office of ADCP-4, the CICU leadership congratulated Sh. Sandhu on his appointment and expressed full confidence in his ability to strengthen law and order in the industrial zones of Ludhiana, particularly Focal Point and surrounding areas. A floral bouquet was presented to mark the occasion.

Key Issues Discussed:
1.    Industrial Security: The delegation highlighted increasing concerns among manufacturers and exporters over security challenges, particularly in industrial clusters. CICU requested enhanced vigilance to deter thefts and trespassing during night hours.
2.    Labour Safety on Salary Days: CICU urged the police department to ensure patrolling around factory premises and financial hubs on salary disbursement days, to safeguard workers from potential snatching and criminal activities.
3.    Enhanced Patrolling in Dark Zones: The members requested consistent patrolling in poorly lit or deserted stretches within Focal Point, especially during early morning and late-night hours, which are vulnerable to anti-social activities.
4.    Quick Response Mechanism: CICU proposed establishing a streamlined communication channel between industry representatives and local police stations for real-time alerts and emergency response.

Mandeep Singh Sandhu assured the CICU team that their concerns were valid and would be addressed with priority. He reiterated the police department’s commitment to fostering a safe industrial environment, which is crucial for Ludhiana’s economic progress. “The suggestions and recommendations provided by CICU will be treated with the highest level of seriousness, and collaborative efforts will be made to improve safety standards,” he stated.

CICU President Upkar Singh Ahuja emphasized that security is the foundation of industrial productivity and growth. “We are not only responsible for producing goods and exports but also for the well-being of thousands of workers. A secure and peaceful atmosphere is a shared responsibility of the administration and industry, and we appreciate the proactive approach of the Punjab Police.”

CICU General Secretary  Honey Sethi added, “This meeting reinforces our belief in dialogue and partnership with law enforcement to solve grassroots-level issues effectively.”
