CICU delegation holds meeting with Chunni Lal Bhagat

Ludhiana, January 21, 2014: Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), Ludhiana delegation comprising of Avtar Singh, President and Upkar Singh Ahuja, General secretary today held meeting with Chunni Lal Bhagat, Minister for Labour, Punjab.

The delegation presented memorandum to the minister for resolving industry related issues such as; Waiver of submitting ‘Approved Factory Building Map’ by the Industrial Units operating in Mixed Land Used Areas, Waiver for obtaining SAC Approval in Non-designated Areas of Ludhiana, Granting permission to all Members of ‘Architects Association of India’ for approval of Factory Building Map, Issue of Receipts of Documents by Labour Department/Offices, Request for not Enhancing Labour Rates, Annual Revision of Labour Rates & Provision of proper Medical Services at ESIC Model Hospitals and Dispensaries.

Bhagat assured that positives actions on all the issues for solving them amicably will be taken.  He announced that by the end of March’ 2014 the following actions by the Labour Department will be implemented: i)       Labour Officials will not inspect the Factories, ii)     Labour Department will permit women workers during Night Shifts, iii)    Large number of Books/Registers for Compliance of Labour Laws by Industrial Units will be reduced to two only, iv)     3rd Party will be authorized to grant approval for Factory Building Map.

The minister also assured that he will take up the matter with ESIC Authorities to waive off Referral System for admission to linked hospital/s for the treatment of those ailments for which the facility is not available in ESIC Hospitals.

This meeting was attended by Simranjit Singh Bains, MLA, Nand Lal, MLA (BJP), Parveen Bansal, President (BJP), Ludhiana, Ravinder Verma, Convener Beopar Cell (BJP), Punjab and Jatinder Mittal, General Secretary (BJP), Ludhiana and attended by Vishavjeet Khanna, Principal Secretary, Labour, Nanda, Commissioner, Labour, Sodhi Mal, Additional Director (Factories), Kashmira Singh, Joint Director (Factories) besides Charanjit Singh Vishavkarma, President, UCPMA, Inderjit Singh Navyug, Ram Lubhaya, G S Kahlon, Rajnish Bansal & others.//
