Ludhiana, April 2, 2014: Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) today conducted one day Seminar on `Poka Yoke-Mistake Proofing’ at CICU Complex, Ludhiana.

Avtar Singh, President, CICU welcomed the participants and said that in the present economic scenario, MSMEs are to be encouraged for raising talents and skills, which could lead them towards door of success in these challenging times. The participants will learn methods and procedures of Poka Yoke to be adopted in their organisations. He further said that in this competitive scenario, this seminar will enable participants to deliver superior values and where to put in efforts to provide maximum gains for their companies.

This highly interactive and thought provoking seminar was conducted by Sh. Manjit Singh, Sr. Manager (Design, Development & Tool Room), New Swan Enterprises. He discussed in detail regarding the use of various error proof systems, tools and techniques of Poka Yoke for practical implementation in various types of industries. He also gave important tips regarding day-to-day shop floor problems and their solutions for use in industrial and business enterprises.      

Upkar Singh Ahuja, General Secretary, CICU in his concluding remarks said that consequent upon the increased globalisation of the Indian economy, MSME Sector is facing new challenges. This seminar made valuable contribution for use of effective Poka Yoke skills for promoting participative management, cross functional team working, fulfilling quality assurance, cost reduction and reliving workers of constant attention to worrisome problems, which are essential to compete, survive and prosper. More than 40 participants comprising proprietors, partners, directors, general managers, plant heads & senior level managers from production, operations, quality, planning & control, R&D, engineering and maintenance, participated and interacted in this program. He appreciated the participants for lively and interactive discussion.
