CICU condemns two-day industrial weekly off decision taken by PSPCL

Ludhiana: Upkar Singh Ahuja, President and Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) in a joint statement mentioned that industry is suffering due to electricity cuts and PSPCL has started imposing industrial weekly off, due to shortage of power in the state.

Further, the industry is already going thorough very crucial time and on the verge of closure, due to Covid-19.

S.B Singh, Joint Secretary, CICU mentioned that Shortage of power will hit hard to the industry and Industrial production will suffer due to power cuts.

Punjab’s total generation capacity is around 13500 MW, but the demand rises more than 14000 MW.

CICU requested to Chief Minister of Punjab Capt. Amarinder Singh to provide surplus power to the industry.
