CICU appeal to all 31 farmer unions to let rail traffic run normally

Ludhiana: Upkar Singh Ahuja, President and Pankaj Sharma, General Secretary, Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) in a joint statement said that new farm bills has created a sense of panic in farmers and due to this the Industry of Punjab State is in pathetic situation. There are numerous unforeseen situations, in which Manufacturing Industry is going through. After the call by farm unions to stop rail movements in state of Punjab as compelled the Manufacturing industry in Punjab to suffer. The containers of raw material are either stuck at the ICD’s or at gateway ports resulting huge shortage of Raw Materials. Cost of Raw Materials has gone sky rocketed.
 
They also added that industry is in looming situation, it hasn’t even recovered from COVID pandemic yet and now it has to face this unprecedented situation. Even during the black days of Punjab the farmers and the industries stood hand in hand and made sure that it don’t affect our lives or our dear ones lives.
 
J.S Bhogal, Publicity Secretary and Sh. Honey Sethi, Organizing Secretary CICU emphasized that if this situation keeps on prevailing the factories will be forced to shut their operations. There are nearly 2 Lac MSME units currently operating in state of Punjab, which provide employment and lively hood to more than 1 crore human lives. These human lives will surely be one of your family members.
