Children’s Day celebration 2020

Ludhiana: Children’s day was celebrated on 12th November 2020 by Paediatric Nursing and Paediatric Medicine Department, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana on the theme “Lets Battle Against COVID 19”. Dr. Gurmeet Kaur, HOD, Paediatric Medicine Department shared with the parents, their children and students, the importance of social distancing, wearing of mask and empasised on the need to be more vigilant regarding the health of children with aspect to their routine heath check-up, growth and development monitoring and regular immunization. Prof. Malini S. Bhatti, Vice Principal, College of Nursing encouraged the students and the children present with her valuable thoughts on this day. Prof. Premlata  Prakash, HOD, Child Health Nursing Department, gave a talk on handwashing and its importance for children. BSc interns demonstrated the handwashing technique with the help of an action song.

A video was also shown to the audience laying importance on the role of mothers regarding creating awareness among children on prevention of COVID 19. Mrs. Richa Justin Hans, Assistant Professor, College of Nursing proposed the vote of thanks. M.Sc and B.Sc. nursing students prepared informative posters to disseminate the information regarding the prevention of this disease. Children were distributed crayons, drawing sheets and chocolates on the occasion. Programme was appreciated by Dr Reena Jairus, Principal, College of Nursing.
