Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurates Smt. Sunitidevi Singhania School in Thane

Mumbai, June 6, 2019: Smt.Sunitidevi Singhania School is a latest of the schools being set up under the aegis of Smt.Sulochanadevi Singhania School Trust in Thane. Smt.Sulochanadevi Singhania School, which was set up with a vision to provide equal opportunities to all children, entered in its golden jubilee last year and has now opened a new school to cater to the ever rising demand for high quality education. The new school was inaugurated by Chief Minister, Shri Devendra Fadnavis and Mr.Gautam Hari Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director, Raymond Ltd. on 6th June.

The school in its first year will impart education to 1500 students from classes Nursery to VI and has employed trained and experienced teachers to ensure that the classroom transactions are meaningful and productive. The school is building classrooms beyond walls that will incorporate the most progressive methodologies in learning in order to make the process of learning fun, meaningful and relevant. Interactive boards, mind maps, flipped classrooms and mobile apps will complement classroom teaching. Additionally, the school is also equipped with the state of art libraries, science laboratories, smart-interactive boards, computer laboratories, activity rooms, gross –motor and fine motor skill development centre, water –play and sand-play areas.

Sharing his happiness on the inauguration of the school Mr. Gautam Hari Singhania, CMD, Raymond Ltd. said, said, “Smt. In-line with the values of Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School, a special focus on Indian Culture along with emphasis on Sanskrit language and co-curricular activities which include literary and creative expressions through fine arts will be a major part of the curriculum. Outdoor and in-door sports will get equal importance that will help in character building. Rural and social out-reach programs are a part of the curriculum too in order to sensitize children to the needs of the society. The school will promote international exchange programs to add the global dimensions to their learning.

Apart from this, the Smt. Sunitidevi Singhania School is furnished with a Child Development and Learning Centre which caters to the physical and emotional needs of the children. There are trained counselors, special educators and clinical psychologists who will support children and their learning at all times.
