Ludhiana, July 12, 2023: Chief Engineer (Central Zone – Ludhiana) Er. Inderpal Singh, on Wednesday, reviewed the pending cases of pensions of employees during a review meeting held at Ludhiana.

Today, a five member team from Patiala Head office reached Ludhiana Chief Engineer office and the review meeting was conducted by Deputy Chief Engineer (Tech to Director Admin) Sukhwinder Singh, Superintending Engineer (Headquarter) Er. Ramesh Kaushal and Deputy Secretary Nishi Rani. During the meeting, superintendents and accountants from around 25 divisions turned up with the files regarding the cases of pensions.

After reviewing the work, the Chief Engineer Er. Inderpal Singh directed the concerned employees to speed up the work and complete the files regarding the cases of pensions of the retired employees. He also appreciated the team for disposing of the cases on the spot.

The meeting was held as per the directions of CMD PSPCL Baldev Singh Sran and Director Admin Er. Ravinder Singh Saini.

During the meeting, the team took detailed information about the different cases of pensions from the officials of the West Circle Ludhiana, South Circle, Sub Urban Circle Ludhiana, Khanna Circle, P & M Circle Ludhiana, and strict instructions were issued.

Er. Sukhwinder Singh said that during the meeting all the pending cases pertaining to the pensioners of PSPCL from August 22 to June 30, 2023 were disposed of and pension cases of those employees who are retiring by December 31, 2023 were pursued so that they can timely get the retirement benefits. “As many as 900 employees are retiring till December 31, 2023,” he said.

Besides, 40 pension cases of employees who died between April 16, 2010 and December 31, 2022 were also reviewed and of these 24 cases were resolved.

Er. Sukhwinder Singh added that for the convenience of the pensioners, the PSPCL has set up a dedicated “Pension Helpline” for its pensioners. “Now, retirees/wards of deceased can call/Whatsapp/SMS on helpline mobile no. 9646115517 (on any working day from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM) on a designed format, which is available on PSPCL website, for any information related to the status of their pension cases,” he said. He added that they also took the status report of the complaints/ grievances in PGRS(Punjab Government Redressal system) portal received by the department so that these can be resolved as soon as possible.

During the meeting, Divisional Superintendents, Circle Superintendents and accountants were present.
