Jalandhar, July 20, 2022: Chess competition was organised on World Chess Day at Dips School, Kapurthala. In the competition the students of senior category performed well by playing various rounds. The competition was held under the guidance of sports in-charge of dips Manmohan Singh. The program started with the Head Girl and Boy giving information about the history of the game. During the competition, four rounds were conducted among the students from class IX to XII. Among them, Ajit Singh of class 10 became the champion of the day.

Principal Dimple Sharma, Vice Principal Varinder Sharma, Sports In-charge Manmohan Singh, and School Sports Coach Kulbir Singh honored the winning students with certificates. Seeing the tremendous performance of the girl students, Principal said that Chess is not just a game but it also helps in improving the intellectual abilities. This increases the focus power of the mind and helps in focusing.

MD Tarwinder Singh said that chess instills confidence in children. During the game, their thinking ability reaches new heights when thinking about the next move. They can easily understand the subject like Mathematics Science and can solve the problem easily.

CEO Monica Mandotra said that this game is the best and least expensive tool for brain exercise. It enhances children's ability to think calmly and creativity even in difficult times.
